Notice of temporary closure: May 8 – June 1, 2020

In response to the extension of the state of emergency, KOTARO NUKAGA will be postponing the opening of the exhibition Subsequence Landscape by Leela Schauble, originally scheduled to open on May 9th, to June 2nd, 2020. The dates and business hours are subject to change in line with the national and local government guidelines. Please check our website, Instagram, and Facebook for the latest information.

Schauble is currently practicing social distancing at her home in Australia and had no choice but to cancel her plan to attend the opening. Instead, she sent us a video message which she edited herself. In the midst of this COVID-19 turmoil, we are given the opportunity to reflect back on excessive anthropocentric(human-centered) development that modern society has put emphasis on.

Schauble’s work references the impact of human-induced climate change and change in ecosystems. It is unfortunate that the opening has been postponed, however, it is our greatest hope that this exhibition will encourage the visitors to think matters in global scale, including the pandemic that we all are facing now, and to be conscious of how we can move toward creating a sustainable society.

The installation views and exhibited works of the exhibition Subsequence Landscape by Leela Schauble can be viewed on Instagram, Facebook, and our website. If you have any questions or inquiries about the work, please contact us by phone (+81(0)3-6433-1247) or email (info@kotaronukaga.com).

We kindly ask for your cooperation and understanding.
